From September 29-October 3, 400 athletes from 80 nations will be vying for the title of World Champion. The only man-made course of its kind, the stadium was originally constructed for the Canoe/Kayak events held during the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The 2005 ICF World Canoe Slalom Championships will be the biggest event held at the stadium since the 2000 Olympic Games and it will be the first major international event since the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
